About GRC

Our Mission.

GRC brings Columbia students into projects with organizations beyond the university. Students work directly with professionals across industries and sectors, gaining exposure to perspectives and problems outside the classroom.

Who We Are

A Consulting Group Built Around Social Impact.

GRC is Columbia University’s premier undergraduate consulting organization, partnering with mission-driven organizations across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors to deliver student-led work.

We’re a branch of GRC Global, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating from 20+ leading universities worldwide, including Harvard, Wharton, Oxford, and Cambridge. GRC is proud to be based in New York City, a hub for major companies across every industry we work with. That gives our members real, in-person access through office visits, client meetings, and a great local network.

At GRC, we emphasize the importance of using interdisciplinary research to understand and inform innovations in the private, public and social sectors. We seek the latest information in macroeconomic trends, cultural context, industry best practices, and more to provide our clients with well-informed and impactful insights and solutions.

Our Values

Our Values

Community

We spend a lot of time working together, so it helps if you actually like the people around you. GRC is a community first, and a consulting club second.

Curiosity

We like complicated questions, inconvenient details, and answers that require a little digging. Easy answers are nice, but they’re not always the right ones.

Social Impact

Our partners are often nonprofit organizations doing big things without the resources of a large consulting budget behind them. That means the work our teams do can have a surprisingly large ripple effect, whether it’s informing a decision, shaping a strategy, or helping a project move forward.

Our Members

Our members come from all four undergraduate schools at Columbia (Columbia College, School of General Studies, Barnard College, and the School of Engineering and Applied Science) and bring experience across STEM, the social sciences, and the humanities. That range of perspectives lets us approach each project with depth, combining research, strategy, and analysis to develop practical solutions that lead to lasting results.
